He is Swedish and holds a BA in Arabic and Politics from SOAS and an MPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies with Persian from the University of Oxford. Andreas' Moments of Clarity were as a promising footballer but in more recent years they tend to materialse when rallying-on his favourite team.
Aseel, a master’s graduate of Middle East Politics, an avid writer and painter is one of Diligencia’s editors. With experience in the Middle East’s heritage sector and women’s NGO, her passion lies in expressing and celebrating the views of a region close to her heart. Aseel's Moments of Clarity come when volunteering as a pre-school Arabic teacher; where she spends her weekend singing, running and jumping up and down to keep her students entertained and engaged.
Asma is our gatekeeper on quality at Diligencia, ensuring that every datapoint we process meets our stringent checks. What underpins Asma's eye for detail is her love of maths, gaining her PhD from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse in Applied Mathematics, as well as her Masters in Financial Engineering from Birkbeck, University of London. Asma's Moments of Clarity come as she teaches her daughter Arabic and when stretching her mind around challenging online courses.
Heading up the Diligencia office in Dubai, Ben a proud Devonian and rugby enthusiast has progressed a 20-year career in publishing and Information Technology working for the likes of DSCallards an award-winning analytics consultancy, as well as global publishers such as Wolters Kluwer and World Markets Research Centre. Ben's Moments of Clarity: the thrills and spills of a desert drive or any moment which includes good company, food, the outdoors and a view.

A member of Diligencia’s newest team, Fiona is a sub-Saharan Africa Analyst with a specific interest in East and Southern Africa. Encouraged and enabled by family and friends, Fiona escaped Scotland to pursue her academic fieldwork in Kenya. Graduating from St Andrews University in 2017, Fiona holds an MA in Social Anthropology from the University of Aberdeen. Moments of Clarity: occur when either in sofa-surfing mode, as an ineffective bird photographer or in hot pursuit of warmer climes.
Thanks to her extensive and various experiences with the United Nations in sub-Saharan Africa, Julia Doublait has significantly helped to set-up the sub-Saharan Africa Team Project for Diligencia. Julia is a passionate reader and traveller and she is driven by a strong desire to learn through new experiences. She believes that exchanging knowledge and communicating with local institutions and communities in Africa lead to personal and professional development and growth.
Managing Diligencia’s online ClarifiedBy.com platform, Karen is an experienced product manager from an Information Technology background working for market leading companies including Fujitsu-Siemens, Targus and Lenovo. She has been instrumental in growing market share and is very excited about the planned product developments and improvements in the coming months which are all “top secret” for now but will be revealed in the fullness of time. Karen's Moments of Clarity are usually found in the kitchen whilst 'secretly' harbouring her dreams of trying out on MasterChef.
Larissa is a Business Analyst at Diligencia, responsible for Portuguese speaking countries in Africa; working mainly on Angola and Mozambique. Having moved from sunny Brazil, the rains of England might take some getting used to. Larissa holds her first BA in Law and her second in Sociology. With practical application clocked up in law firms across Brasilia, Larissa is now studying a post-graduate degree on Brazilian Electoral Law. Larissa's Moments of Clarity are often unlocked when traveling, meeting new people and absorbing different cultures.
Business Analyst at the UK Office covering UAE and North Africa, Muhab has been fortunate enough to have lived and worked in seven countries, including his home Egypt. During his 18-year professional career to date, he's bolstered cross-cultural dialogue and promoted the principals of good governance, democracy and human rights as fundamental freedoms, working alongside global talents with International NGO’s like UNHCR, UNAOC/SOLIYA, DANIDA/DEDI and ACTED. Muhab's Moments of Clarity are found through his love of family and almost all living creatures, as well as his unwavering conviction that ‘everything is political’ yet not necessarily about ‘Power’.
Directing our brand and marketing initiatives, Nameer is an Anglo-Iraqi of Armenian heritage and has an extensive record of working with management teams to enhance brand equity and internal culture. Since 2000, working within client and consulting roles to close the gap on how brand promises influence business processes to better foster much richer customer experiences. Nameer's Moments of Clarity are when he's getting back in touch with the 70's when driving his much loved 280Z.
A passion for languages drives Noura, one of our editors. A true linguist love-affair started in her first language, Hungarian, closely followed her mother tongue, Arabic. Noura has since studied Spanish, German and Japanese, receiving academic accolades and scholarships; first-class BA honours in Linguistics (University of Essex), MSt in General Linguistics and Comparative Philology (University of Oxford), and a PhD in Morphology (University of Essex). Before Diligencia, Noura has thrived in teaching and research roles at Misurata University, University of Essex and several NHS institutions. Noura's Moments of Clarity are undoubtably when weaving traditional Libyan carpets; a skill she learned from her grandmother, and now a legacy she wants her son to embrace, as one of Libyans’ greatest assets.
Patrick joined Diligencia Group in 2015 to lead our client services, strategic planning and product development initiatives. Patrick has around 20 years’ experience of covering and working in frontier and emerging markets, including Pakistan, Iraq, India, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Prior to joining Diligencia, Patrick spent 10 years with risk consulting firm Control Risks, latterly as Managing Director for its consulting businesses across the Middle East region. Patrick began his career at the Financial Times where over a period of seven years he held a variety of commercial publishing roles. Patrick's Moments of Clarity pop most when during his training and triathlon competitions.
Leading our Oxford-based application development team, Phil is an exiled Yorkshireman. Prior to joining Diligencia, he created IT solutions for banking, automotive and marketing organisations including Halifax, Lloyds, Jaguar Land Rover and Sahara Force India. Phil's Moments of Clarity happen with every converted member of the team who sucumbs to his two main pastimes, playing board-games and buying board-games.
Managing Diligencia’s Iran team, Sadegh has several years’ experience of researching Iranian corporate structures and conducting due diligence research. Sadegh studied law at Islamic Mazaheb University Tehran and at the University of Reading and has worked as an editor for several Iranian academic journals. Sadegh's Moments of Clarity are when he's being the keen outdoorsman and camper; when indoors, Sadegh is always up for a game of ping pong in the hope that one day he might just win a match.
An associate director in the Oxford, Tariq was one first of our first team members. He puts his attention to detail, research and problem solving down to all the meticulous work he used to perform as a medical microbiologist. Tariq overlooks complex matters, striving solve the seemingly “impossible”. Tariq's moments of clarity used to present themselves on the football field, though now, with wisdom on his side, he's shifted his attention to watching the beautiful game and focused time with his young family.
Co-leading the research and investigation teams at Diligencia, Zakariya spent a number of years working for a boutique investment firm with focus on Private Equity and Real Estate. He also headed the Insurance Underwriting Division at Libya’s largest Insurer, designing multi-million-pound insurance policies. Prior to joining Diligencia, Zakariya had an exciting tenure working with the UK's largest insurer, studying and developing their market abuse risk and control frameworks. He holds a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southampton, and an MBA from Strathclyde Business School in Glasgow. Zakariya's Moments of Clarity don't always come when watching Arsenal, but almost certainly when at the decks, mixing house and wrestling with his little son.
